Help choosing the right fabric for a spring coat
Girls, I want some advice about a coat like this. I want one for spring. I'm drawn to the simple cut since I've never sewn a coat before. I'm especially happy there are no buttons. Because you need to know how to make buttonholes, and poorly made ones will spoil the whole look.

I found the model online; it even includes a pattern in US sizes — from 10 to 14. But there are no comments ((.

What do you think — which fabric would be best for this model? I wouldn't want the coat to be completely shapeless.

Beautiful! I understand you — I'd want a coat like that myself ))
About fabrics: double-faced cashmere is really high-quality and dense enough not to hang limp. If you want a textured surface, consider bouclé wool; it also has enough stiffness.
In general, even ordinary thin/soft wool will work if you reinforce it from the wrong side with a quilted lining and use interfacing for specific areas: the lapels, shoulders, front panel, sleeve edges, and hem.
