Sewing a DIY Jersey Tube Skirt
This skirt model is so quick and easy to sew that it is accessible even to teenagers.

The main thing is to choose high-quality jersey that can be handled by your sewing machine.
To determine the required amount of fabric, we need to take two measurements: the length of the skirt and the hip circumference.
If the fabric width is enough for the full hip circumference, you need to buy one skirt length plus 15-20 cm for the waistband and seam allowances.
If the hip circumference is greater than the fabric width, buy two lengths plus an extra 15-20 cm.
Before cutting, check the stretchiness of the jersey. The easiest way to avoid mistakes is to baste the fabric to the required width without cutting it! Try it on, and everything will become clear.
If you want to sew a form-fitting skirt, cut a straight panel based on your hip circumference, without seam allowances.
If you want a looser model, measure the hip circumference plus seam allowances.
As a result of cutting according to the first option (when the hip volume fits within the fabric width), we should get two pieces: the skirt panel in the form of a rectangle (skirt width x its length) and the waistband—a strip equal to the width of the skirt panel plus seam allowances and 8-10 cm wide (depending on your preference).

If you want to emphasize the waist better, you can add one dart at the back seam or two at the sides.

Connect the finished pieces with pins or a basting stitch along the entire length. Sew with a zigzag stitch or a jersey stitch.
If the raw edges are prone to fraying, serge them. Press the seam allowances open.
Sew the waistband into a ring. Fold it into quarters, marking the fold points. Fold the waistband in half and stitch, leaving an opening for the elastic.
Fold the top edge of the skirt panel into quarters as well, marking the fold points.
Place the waistband against the edges of the panel, aligning the edges and the marked points. Baste, then stitch the waistband.
Serge all three edges in one pass. Press the waistband seam allowances toward the skirt.
Fold the hem of the skirt by 2.5 cm and stitch with a twin needle.

Press the finished skirt.
