How to Sew a Girl's Skirt from Old Leggings
If you have printed leggings sitting unused in your closet, you can turn them into a cute little kids' skirt. Sewn from soft knit fabric, soft and comfortable, it's great for active play and as cozy loungewear.

How to sew a skirt for a girl: the process
Cut off the top and bottom sections of the leggings — we'll need the middle third of the leg.

Cut each half open along the seam and trim off the finished/overlocked edge.

Fold the halves of the future skirt right sides together and sew the side seams. Finish the bottom edge with a double hem. Sew a casing for the waistband.

Thread the elastic through and carefully hand-sew the opening closed.

Your leggings skirt is ready. You can decorate it with pockets, sew on some lace, or add other decorative touches.
