New Year's Cushion Decor: How to Decorate Your Home for the Holidays

With the holidays approaching, each of us wonders how to decorate the home for the New Year. Some make a Christmas wreath or sew a stocking for gifts, and I suggest using crocheted doilies to decorate sofa cushions.

If you enjoy handicrafts, you likely have a whole collection of such lovely decorations made from fine white cotton. If your apartment’s design doesn’t leave room for doilies, you can crochet them in a few evenings by choosing suitable snowflake patterns.

Depending on their size, you can place them in the center of the cushion, in the corners, or on one side.

To create a unified composition, it’s best to sew the pillow covers from the same fabric. In the sample, natural-colored linen is used, which shows off the snow‑white doilies perfectly. As an extra touch, the crocheted snowflakes can be starched and used to decorate a window, the Christmas tree, or the fireplace.
