How to slow down your sewing machine yourself
It's great when a machine sews fast! But sometimes you really need a very slow speed. Especially if you aren't sewing a long straight line, but several short, intersecting ones that require changing direction.
There is a solution, and it's very simple. At least on a Janome machine, even a child can adjust the pedal sensitivity! I'm not sure about others, you'll have to try.
First, make sure to unplug the machine from the power outlet!
Next, remove the top cover of the pedal.
Take a small flat-head screwdriver.
Locate the adjuster and carefully turn it clockwise by about 30 degrees.
Then reassemble everything in reverse order. That's it, you're done!
Before opening a sewing machine pedal, remember that it can void the warranty. Unplug the machine first and work only if you are comfortable with small electrical parts.
@AngelA, I think this will be useful for beginners, or for those who don't sew often. For example, I rarely do complex stitches on the machine, plus my pedal is very sensitive, so this trick will definitely come in handy for me on tricky sections 😉
