Need advice – which insulation should I use?
I'm planning to sew a coat for my daughter out of quilted taffeta with batting, but I want to add extra insulation. Just in case it gets cold, the taffeta feels a bit too thin... I'm wondering what would work best. There are so many options now... I'm also planning to sew a faux fur jacket. What should I use for insulation there? Please share your practical experience—how do different materials wear, how warm are they, and—very importantly—will sewing through the insulation overload my machine? I'd like to avoid any issues.

Собралась шить дочке пальто из стеганной тафты на синтепоне, но хочу еще утеплитель поставить. Мало ли, похолодает, а что-то эта тафта на ощупь слишком тонкая... Задумалась, что лучше подойдет. Сейчас их так много... А еще в планах – хочу меховую куртку шить. А что туда для утепления? Поделитесь практическим опытом – как что носится, насколько греет, и – очень важно – для машинки строчка утеплителя не будет перегрузом? Не хотелось бы проблем.
For the second year now, I've had a very cool winter jumpsuit in my closet, custom-made by a young brand called MamaPapa Kombinezon. They specialize specifically in comfortable clothing for active walks. What I liked about them is that they use a combination of membrane (for the outer surface), fleece (for the lining), and Thermofin (as insulation).
I haven't had lighter or warmer winter clothes yet (y). So, I am all for Thermofin. It consists of spirals that are connected to each other into one hollow sheet. There is a lighter version of Thermofin: 200 g/sq. m, for our regular winter, and there is Thermofin 400 for harsh weather conditions. But it seems to me the latter is more suitable for the Far North )) I have Thermofin 200 in my jumpsuit, and I've never been cold once )) Read about this insulation, there is a lot of information online.
