Is It Worth Restoring Old Clothes, or Easier to Just Sew Something New?
Clients often ask us to patch up an old piece, or to re-sew or restore a family heirloom. What they don't always realize is just how labor-intensive and tricky that kind of work can be. They figure that if it's "just two seams to stitch," it must be quick and simple. What most people don't understand is that fixing those two seams can sometimes mean unpicking half the garment first.
But that's clients for you — they can be forgiven. What do you think, fellow makers — is it worth taking on complicated repairs, or is it just not worth the hassle?

Зачастую заказчицы просят подремонтировать старую вещь или перешить/отреставрировать семейный раритет. И при этом, не отдают себе отчет, насколько это трудоемкая и сложная работа. Считают, что если нужно «только два шва прострочить», то это легко и просто. А то, что ради этих двух швов иногда можно половину изделия распороть, это не все понимают.
Но, это заказчицы. Им простительно. А что скажете вы, мастерицы-рукодельницы – стоит ли заниматься сложными ремонтами, или овчинка выделки не стоит?
