Sewing a jacket with knit sleeves
You can update your wardrobe without buying new things. Don't throw away your favorite denim jacket with worn-out cuffs or a sweater that has become too small. Let's use them to sew a jacket with knit sleeves. It will be indispensable in spring and will pair well with both skirts and jeans.

## Clothing refashioning made easy
Cut the sleeves off the sweater (it can be solid-colored or patterned). Choose a model with a standard armhole; raglan or batwing styles will not work for this project. Don't throw away the rest of the sweater; it will come in handy!

Also, cut the sleeves off the shirt or denim jacket. Trim the sweater sleeves to match. Baste and sew the knit sleeves into the jacket.

Since we are working with knit fabric, don't forget to finish the seam; an overlocker is best, but a zigzag stitch will also work.

The new item is ready, but that's not all! We are going to make a set.
Cut off the bottom part of the sweater and cut it along the seam to get 2 identical halves.

Reinforce with fusible interfacing and trim.

Sew on 3 sides - this is the base for the future bag.

If you want an accessory with a boxed bottom, turn the base inside out and stitch the corners to the desired width. Cut strips from the denim sleeves for the strap, sew a zipper into the bag, and attach the long handle. You can also secure it using carabiners.

Such a stylish set will definitely come in handy when the warm weather arrives.

You can make a lining for a handbag out of the cut-off jacket sleeves. There should be enough fabric. Then it becomes a zero-waste option! And if you really want to put in the effort, you could make the bag reversible - knitted + denim. (y)
