Winter is not just for holiday festivities, but also for prom preparations. Even though prom is in the spring, mothers of graduates—and therefore seamstresses—are already thinking about dress materials.
Dresses with a 'naked' back effect are currently very popular. From a distance, it seems as if the dress is held up only by the bodice, but for comfortable wear and to keep cups from slipping, mesh is used, often embellished with rhinestones, stones, and other materials. Tambour (Luneville) embroidery is highly recommended for such styles.
However, the mesh used for these garments varies. Let's break down the features of each type and how to choose the right one.
## Italian Used for various decoration methods. It is very durable and non-reflective. The weave is very similar to stretch tulle, but it has minimal stretch, and edge finishing is not strictly necessary.
The standard roll width is 160 mm, and the price per meter is approximately 68-75 UAH.
## Noviarte An elastic and very soft mesh. It stretches and does not return to its original shape, so edge finishing is recommended, though not strictly required. It is wrinkle-resistant. It comes in two versions: matte and shiny, yet it is almost invisible against the skin. It is dense, allowing for any type of decoration.
The standard roll width is 300 mm, and the price is 120-130 UAH/m.
Nylon 42A (also called tulle-like) Nylon is ideal for embroidery; it is matte and has no shine. It stretches slightly crosswise but instantly returns to its shape. It feels similar to tulle.
Roll width is 160 mm, price is 70 UAH/m.
## Nylon 25A A very soft and delicate tulle based on nylon thread. It is durable, hard to tear, and stretches in all directions; edge finishing is mandatory. Very low price—50 UAH/m. Roll width is 160 mm.
## Illusion The most durable mesh; it is very difficult to tear. It is completely invisible on the body. It has low stretch but allows for a perfect silhouette. The price is about 200 UAH per meter. Roll width is 150 mm.
