How to Crochet a Rose Hot Pad: Easy DIY Kitchen Decor Pattern

Hot pads are little things that create comfort and a special atmosphere in our kitchens. You can crochet them quickly, and no special skills are required. Moreover, it is a great way to use up yarn scraps.

**Finished item diameter – 21 cm.

What you will need:

yarn, 100% acrylic, 100 g per 180 m, in yellow, orange, white, and green colors;
crochet hook size 1.3 mm.

## How to crochet

The hot pad consists of two parts – the top and the bottom.

## Top part

Start with yellow yarn. Crochet 6 ch, join into a ring with a slip stitch.

Row 1: 5 ch, (dc in ring, 2 ch) x 7, join with a sl st into the third ch of the initial 5 ch chain. You get 8 dc and 8 arches of 2 ch each;

Row 2: (sc, 1 ch, 4 dc, 1 ch, sc) – in each 2 ch arch around, join with a sl st into the first stitch (= 8 petals);

Row 3: (4 ch, sc in sc between petals of the second row) - around, join with a sl st into the first stitch (= 8 arches of 4 ch);

Row 4: (sc, 1 ch, 6 dc, 1 ch, sc) – in each 4 ch arch around, join with a sl st into the first stitch (= 8 petals);

Row 5: (4 ch, sc in sc between petals of the fourth row) - around, join with a sl st into the first stitch (= 8 arches of 4 ch);

Row 6: (sc, 1 ch, 8 dc, 1 ch, sc) – in each 4 ch arch around, join with a sl st into the first stitch (= 8 petals).

Cut the yellow yarn, attach the orange yarn and crochet with a 1.3 mm hook (sc, 3 ch, sc) into each stitch of the petal. Cut the yarn.

## Continue crocheting the hot pad with green yarn:

Row 7: attach the yarn between any petals on the wrong side. Crochet (7 ch, sc) between the next 2 petals on the wrong side around. Join with a sl st into the first stitch. (= 8 arches of 7 ch);

Row 8: 1 ch, (sc, dc, 7 tr, dc, sc) – in each 7 ch arch around (= 8 petals). Cut the yarn.

Attach white yarn into any second tr of any petal and continue:

Row 9: 7 ch, skip 3 tr, sc in the next stitch, (5 ch, tr in the 1st stitch of the next petal, 5 ch, sc in the second tr of the same petal, 7 ch; skip 3 tr, sc in the next stitch) x7, 5 ch, tr in the 1st stitch of the next petal, 5 ch, join with a sl st into the 1st stitch. Cut the yarn.

## Bottom part

Start with white yarn:

Row 1: 6 ch, join into a ring with a sl st, 3 ch, 11 dc in ring, join with a sl st to the top of the 3 ch chain (= 12 dc);

Row 2: 4 ch, 2 tr in each stitch around, join the row (= 24 tr);

Row 3: 4 ch, 2 tr in each stitch around, join the row (= 48 tr);

Row 4: 4 ch, (2 tr in the next stitch, tr in the next stitch) around to the last stitch, work 2 tr in it, join the row (= 72 tr);

Row 5: 3 ch, (2 dc in the next stitch, dc in the next three stitches, 2 dc in the next stitch, dc in the next four stitches) – repeat for the entire row, join the row (= 88 dc).

## Assembly

Place the parts of the hot pad with right sides facing up and crochet around through the loops of the bottom part and the arches of the top part: (3 sc in the 7 ch arch, 4 sc in each of the next two 5 ch arches). Join the row with a sl st into the first stitch. Cut the yarn.

Attach yellow yarn with a sc into any stitch, skip the next stitch and repeat: (5 dc in the next stitch, skip the next stitch, sc in the next stitch, skip the next stitch), 12 ch (this will be a hanging loop, if you choose to make one), sl st into the same stitch. Cut the yarn.

## Edging

Edge all petals of the last yellow row with orange yarn, working (sc, 3 ch, sc) into each stitch. Cut the yarn.

Подставка сделана из двух частей – верхней и нижней.

Верхняя часть

Начинаем работу желтыми нитками. Вывязываем крючком 6 ВП, соединяем в кольцо соединительным столбиком.

1 р.: 5 ВП, (ст. с н. в кольцо, 2 ВП) х 7, соединяем соед. ст. в третью п. начальной цепочки из 5 ВП. Получается 8 ст. с н. и 8 арок из 2-х ВП;

2 р.: (ст. б. н., 1 ВП, 4 ст. с н., 1 ВП, ст. б. н.) – в каждую арку из 2-х ВП по кругу, соединяем соед. ст. в первый столбик (= 8 лепестков);

3 р.: (4 ВП, ст. б. н. в ст. б. н. между лепестками второго ряда) - по кругу, соединяем соед. ст. в первый столбик (= 8 арок из 4 ВП);

4 р.: (ст. б. н., 1 ВП, 6 ст. с н., 1 ВП, ст. б. н.) – в каждую арку из 4-х ВП вкруговую, соединяем соед. ст. в первый столбик (= 8 лепестков);

5 р.: (4 ВП, ст. б. н. в ст. б. н. между лепестками четвертого р.) - по кругу, соединяем соед. ст. в первый столбик (= 8 арок из 4 ВП);

6 р.: (ст. б. н., 1 ВП, 8 ст. с н., 1 ВП, ст. б. н.) – в каждую арку из 4-х ВП по кругу, соединяем соед. ст. в первый столбик (= 8 лепестков).

Обрезаем желтую нитку, присоединяем оранжевую и обвязываем крючком No1,3 (ст. б. н., 3 ВП, ст. б. н.) в каждый столбик лепестка. Обрезаем нить.

Далее вязание подставки выполняем зеленой пряжей:

7 р.: присоединяем нить между любыми лепестками с изнаночной стороны. Вывязываем (7 ВП, ст. б. н.) между следующими 2-мя лепестками по изнанке по кругу. Замыкаем соед. ст. в первый столбик. (= 8 арок из 7 ВП);

8 р.: 1 ВП, (ст. б. н., ст. с н., 7 ст. с 2 н., ст. с н., ст. б. н.) – в каждую арку из 7 ВП по кругу (= 8 лепестков). Обрезаем нить.

В любой второй ст. с 2 н. любого лепестка присоединяем белую нить и вяжем далее:

9 р.: 7 ВП, пропускаем 3 ст. с 2 н., ст. б. н. в следующий ст., (5 ВП, ст. с 2 н. в 1-ый столбик следующего лепестка, 5 ВП, ст. б. н. во второй ст. с 2 н. того же лепестка, 7 ВП ; пропускаем 3 ст. с 2 н., ст. б. н. в следующий ст.) х7, 5 ВП, ст. с 2 н. в 1-ый ст. следующего лепестка, 5 ВП, присоединяем соед. ст. в 1-ый ст. Обрезаем нить.

Нижняя часть

Начинаем работу белой нитью:

1 р.: 6 ВП, замыкаем в кольцо соед. ст., 3 ВП, 11 ст. с н. в кольцо, соединяем соед. ст. с вершиной цепочки из 3 ВП (= 12 ст. с н.);

2 р.: 4 ВП, 2 ст. с 2 н. в каждый ст. по кругу, замыкаем р. (= 24 ст. с 2 н.);

3 р.: 4 ВП, 2 ст. с 2 н. в каждый ст. по кругу, замыкаем р. (= 48 ст. с 2 н.);

4 р.: 4 ВП, (2 ст. с 2 н. в следующий ст., ст. с 2 н. в следующий ст.) по кругу до последнего ст., в него – 2 ст. с 2 н., замыкаем р. (= 72 ст. с 2 н.);

5 р.: 3 ВП, (2 ст. с н. в следующий ст., ст. с н. в следующие три столбика, 2 ст. с н. в следующий ст., ст. с н. в следующие четыре столбика) – повтор на весь р., замкнуть р. (= 88 ст. с н.).

Сборка

Складываем части подставки лицевыми сторонами вверх и обвязываем крючком по кругу через петельки нижней части и арки верхней: (3 ст. б. н. в арку из 7 ВП, 4 ст. б. н. в каждую из следующих двух арок из 5 ВП). Замыкаем р. соед. ст. в первый столбик. Обрезаем нить.

Присоединяем столбиком без накида в любой столбик желтую нить, пропускаем следующий ст. и повторяем дальше: (5 ст. с н. в след. ст., пропускаем след. ст., ст. б. н. в след. ст., пропускаем след. ст.), 12 ВП (это будет петелька – подвеска, если вы ее будете делать), соед. ст. в тот же столбик. Обрезаем нитку.

Обвязка

Обвязываем все лепестки последнего желтого ряда оранжевой пряжей, выполняя в каждый столбик (ст. б. н., 3 ВП, ст. б. н.). Обрезаем нить.
