Simple Crochet Baby Blanket

This little one measures just 80 by 80 centimeters, though you can scale it up proportionally if you like. This gorgeous blanket is perfect for babies — for the crib and the stroller alike. It's worked very simply, so it's great for beginners. Essentially, the pattern of this lacy blanket is made up of groups of three stitches joined together in a wavy design.

Tools and materials you'll need:**

• white and brown or graphite-colored yarn (in our case we used a cotton-and-acrylic blend, 100 grams to 188 meters);
• a size 6 hook.

Gauge: 20 dc x 4 rows = 10 by 10 centimeters.

Pattern instructions

Chain 126.

Row 1: 3 dc into the 5th chain from the hook, skip the next 2 chains, 3 dc into the next chain, skip the next 2 chains, (3 dc, 3 ch, 3 dc) into the next chain, (skip the next 2 chains, 3 dc into the next chain) x 2, skip the next 5 chains, (3 dc into the next chain, skip the next 2 chains, 3 dc into the next chain), repeat the pattern from to to the last chain, work 1 dc into it, turn.

Row 2: 4 ch, (3 dc into the next space between groups from the row below) x 2, (3 dc, 3 ch, 3 dc) into the next space, (3 dc into the next space) x 2, skip the next space, repeat the pattern from to to the last group, skip the last group, 1 dc into the last stitch of the row.

Once you've crocheted the blanket to the length you want, cut the yarn, weave in the tail, and edge the piece around the perimeter with 1-2 rows of single crochet.
