How to make a stylish and original Christmas candle holder

There is nothing better than giving a loved one a handmade trinket. It is especially pleasant to see a smile on their face when such a gift is also useful. And what can create a cozy home atmosphere during the New Year holidays better than the flickering of candles near the Christmas tree? But it is dangerous to leave candles lit without a holder, so I suggest making a simple but very beautiful Christmas-themed candle holder.

We will create magic using simple materials:

• a glass jar (any one you like);
• paper stencils with a Christmas theme;
• pine cones, with or without a twig;
• lace, twine;
• white acrylic paint, PVA glue, hot glue gun;
• brushes;
• semolina or table salt;
• needle and thread.

Gather the top edge of the lace with a needle and thread into neat folds. The length of the finished gathered lace should be equal to the circumference of the jar's neck.

You can draw the stencils for the future candle holder yourself or trace a design from any source; the main thing is that the templates are transferred to white paper. Cut out the stencils and glue them with PVA glue to the inside of the jar.

Glue the gathered lace around the rim of the jar using a hot glue gun. After decorating the jar with lace, proceed to glue the twine. Use the hot glue gun for this as well.

At this stage, start working with the pine cones. Glue the forest treasures over the twine using the glue gun.

Pour semolina, flour, or salt into the jar to act as snow😉. Lightly dab the pine cones with acrylic paint (you can use regular water-based paint) to imitate a dusting of snow.

Place a tea light candle inside the jar, and your gift is ready to be given!
