Making a beautiful and stylish beret from an old sweater

I think berets are a headpiece that will always be in fashion. If you don't have such a cute accessory as a beret yet, you don't have to run to the store. You can make a beautiful, and most importantly, warm beret with your own hands from an old sweater.

Lay the sweater out on a flat surface and place any plate or other round object with a diameter of 30 centimeters on it. Add 1.5-2 cm for seam allowances and cut out the piece. Measure your head circumference. From the measurement obtained, subtract 5 cm and cut a strip 10 cm wide from the bottom of the sweater.

Pin the resulting strip and sew it on a machine. Fold the strip in half widthwise. Leaving 1.5 cm from the cut edge, sew it. This piece will be the headband of the beret.

Place the beret headband on the round piece right sides together, and connect the pieces in four places with pins, as shown in the photo. Between each "petal," find the middle and baste again. You need to repeat this procedure until all the loose sections are connected.

Sew our piece together. It is very important to hold the fabric in place while sewing so that the beret does not stretch. The beret is ready, and you can go for a walk!
