Rug, Wall Hanging, or Bag in Chenille Technique: Using Fabric Scraps
Chenille items are usually scarves, shawls, wraps, and other pieces made from thin fabrics. But why not experiment? Let's try making a rug, a chair pad, or even a bag using unwanted scraps. Old jeans and fabric remnants are perfect for this. Don't miss the little secret on how to sew in the chenille technique using scrap fabric.

Work Order
## Step 1
Rip apart the legs of old jeans or use a scrap from a jacket. Press with an iron.
## Step 2
Lay medium-sized scraps over the base, slightly overlapping. Choose one color scheme, for example, all shades of yellow.

## Step 3
Choose smaller scraps and lay them ACROSS the previous layer. Also, stick to one color scheme.

## Step 3-6
Make a few more layers using scraps, old scarves, curtains, tulle, etc.

## Step 7
Lay the top layer of denim, pin it, and mark the center. From there, draw a semicircle and then parallel lines spaced 2-2.5 cm apart. This will cover 1/4 of your chenille piece. Another 1/4 can be marked with lines at a 45-degree angle; you can also draw squares or diamonds.

IMPORTANT! The distance between lines should not exceed 2.5 cm!
## Sewing
Stitch along all the marked lines. Start sewing from the center. You can also use contrasting thread colors.
## Creating the Chenille
Cut through all layers except the bottom one BETWEEN the stitches. Use sharp scissors with thin tips.

Actively crumple the fabric in your hands; you can rub it along the seams with a stiff brush or wash it in a washing machine without detergent.

This will fray the layers and reveal the beauty of the chenille.
