How to quickly and easily turn a boring tank top into a stylish shirt
I had a tank top. A plain one, or rather, a nothing-special one. 🙁 In short, a Cinderella tank top. And it wanted... no, not to go to the ball, but at least to go for a fun walk.🙂
It needed a makeover, fast! My tank top and I didn't wait for any fairy godmothers or apprentices – we did it all ourselves.
So, grab some matching thread and a crochet hook.
Crochet the lace inserts: a square one for the back and semi-circular ones for the sleeves.
Then start sewing on the lace. The sleeves are very simple – just stitch the decoration onto the armhole.
The back will take a bit more work. Sew the lace on with a basting stitch or pin it exactly along the center line. You can decide the height based on your preference.
Stitch around the perimeter.
Cut out the fabric underneath the insert on the wrong side.
The result is very unique and stylish!
