"Puffy" Plush Yarn - Magical Yarn for Finger Knitting
Many crafters have come to appreciate soft and pleasant plush yarn. One of its varieties is Alize "Puffy".
This is yarn with pre-formed loops, allowing you to knit without any additional tools. The composition is 100% polyester, the skein weight is 100g, and the length in one skein is 9 m. The color of this yarn is durable and fade-resistant; items can be washed by hand or in a machine (hand-wash cycle) at a temperature no higher than 40 degrees.
## What can you knit with "Puffy"?
Mainly blankets, pillows, and rugs. The yarn is excellent for knitted toys - you can find a rich color palette on sale, including variegated options.
## How to knit with Alize "Puffy"
The factory-made loops of this yarn are sized so that they are easy to grab with your fingers, so you won't need knitting needles or a crochet hook for the work.
A bonus for those wanting to try a new type of craft - a couple of knitting lessons and two basic patterns.
## Stockinette Stitch
For the swatch, count 20 loops from the edge, leaving the yarn to your RIGHT.
Grab the next loop from the skein and pull it through the 1st loop on the right, then pull the second loop from the yarn through the 2nd base loop, and continue this until the end of the row.
WITHOUT TURNING the work, place the skein at the TOP LEFT. Now we will pull the loops in the reverse order from left to right.
You get an even and smooth fabric, similar to stockinette stitch.
## Terry Fabric
Start knitting as in the first case - the ball is located on the right.
Row 1. Work similarly to the stockinette stitch.
Row 2. Skip the first loop(!), pull the loop from the ball through the 2nd loop of the row. At the same time, pull the base loop upward and push the newly formed loop downward.
Do not knit the last loop either. The finished fabric turns out "terry-like" and resembles astrakhan fur.
## How to bind off loops when finger knitting.
Very simple! Cut the yarn, start binding off from right to left, pulling the loops of the last row one through another in turn.
These simple lessons will help you master finger knitting and open up huge possibilities for using "Puffy" yarn.
Inspired by this post, I decided to try it, and I'm delighted! It's so soft! I made a blanket for a baby bed. From 5 skeins of 9 m each (i.e., a total of 45 meters of yarn), I got a blanket measuring 65x165 cm. I knitted it with a regular knit stitch.
