What to consider when choosing a tablecloth
You have to agree, nothing transforms a kitchen quite like a tablecloth.

*
We have a synthetic tablecloth on our kitchen table β an everyday option, what you might call "cheap, reliable, and practical."
It's easy to keep such a tablecloth clean β just wipe it with a damp cloth.
*In modern life, fabric tablecloths are rarely used. *And yet, they are so beautiful...
I still have two of my grandmother's tablecloths in the closet β one jacquard and one plush. Though, they weren't used for the kitchen table.
I've been thinking, maybe I should ditch the oilcloth? Put a beautiful tablecloth on the dining table and forget about practicality?
## Evaluating tablecloth options for kitchen tables, here is a brief summary:
- Jacquard β convenient because you can use both sides. These tablecloths are quite thick and, therefore, durable.π
- Cotton β they look very beautiful. However, the fabric should have a Teflon or acrylic waterproof coating. In this case, the tablecloth will be much more practical. Relying on special placemats or 100% tidiness during use is an illusion. π
- Linen β a luxurious fabric, especially when combined with lace or embroidery. But, alas, it is absolutely impractical. If you get a stain on such a tablecloth, it might be impossible to wash it back to its original state. Linen tablecloths are often covered with jacquard runners or a topper (napperon). This creates a beautiful look at the edges of the table while protecting the top from stains. You also have to consider the pleasure of ironing such a tablecloth, and it must be ironed perfectly.π
- Silk β not a practical material for a tablecloth at all. Perhaps only for very special occasions. Cutlery can slide on silk. It is cold, which creates discomfort when touched.π
My conclusion β if you decide on a fabric tablecloth, choose only cotton with a coating. What do you think?

I love the atmosphere that a tablecloth spread on the table creates. Even if it is the simplest one, it adds coziness and comfort. It is pleasant to gather at the table for a family lunch or dinner. I compared several different options with different fabric compositions. For everyday use, of course, it is better to buy something blended. Such a tablecloth washes faster, dries, and does not require special care. The main thing is that you don't have to iron it. But a regular cotton one is still the best for family celebrations. Despite the simplicity of the fabric, it still looks stricter, but with a special gloss and style. And in white... it's just a fairy tale)) I bought tablecloths from different manufacturers, but after purchasing from the Togas online store website, I realized all its advantages. There are no disadvantages at all. Even all the stains that inevitably get on its surface are easily washed off. And without any soaking. And this is thanks to the water-repellent impregnation, which prevents dirt from getting into the fabric structure.
