How to keep your yarn from tangling while knitting
My mom has been knitting gorgeous things for years. It's her way to relax after work. Whenever I tried to make something decent, I always ran into problems:
- yarn getting tangled;
- balls of yarn constantly rolling away (and we have a cat at home);
- and if I start knitting with multiple colors at once, they inevitably get tangled.
After a few failures, I decided I needed to come up with a way to secure the yarn balls while letting them spin freely. After digging around online, I found many impractical ideas, but I ended up making this stand.

Of course, my version isn't suitable for all types of yarn. If your yarn ball is round, a bottle is a pretty good option.

Since I don't knit often, I didn't feel like making the device look very pretty, but you could decorate it with fabric or even make one out of cardboard. In any case, with a stand like this, you'll definitely forget what tangled yarn is (and the cat won't be a threat to it anymore). And to keep colors separated, you can use ready-made tools or substitute them with DIY alternatives.
