How to crochet matching toy parts?
When you crochet matching parts for a toy (like ears, arms, legs, or paws), sometimes they end up with different thickness, length, or shape. Even when using the same hook and yarn, the results can vary.
I found a solution! Any matching part should be crocheted in one go, without putting off the second arm until tomorrow. Our brain is wired in such a way that as soon as you get distracted from an object, you perceive it slightly differently than before. That is why whenever your paws or ears turn out to be of different shape or size, it is simply because you got distracted or set the piece aside for later. But what if the parts are large and cannot be finished in one day or evening? You should crochet them together, meaning you crochet a row on one piece and immediately crochet the same row on the other. It is more difficult and takes more time, but you will be sure that you are crocheting the parts simultaneously. How about you? Has it ever happened that you crocheted identical toy parts or garment pieces, but they turned out to be different in size?
This post is like it's about me.. I always have to re-knit things several times - I'm always missing something. The sleeves are either too long or too wide.. 😛 I'll have to try and bring your idea to life. PS. If I don't forget by winter.. It just so happened that I like knitting in the cold season, in autumn and winter.. Even the knitting itself keeps me warm.
