How to finish a V-neck on a pullover, vest, or sweater? Cord decoration.

A V-neck in knitwear adds femininity and creates a slimming visual effect. It is crucial to finish the neckline neatly and beautifully so the garment looks flawless. I recently came across this idea online (Knitting magazine) and I really liked it.

This cord decoration for the neckline has several advantages: it replaces beads and necklaces for those who don't wear them, adds a unique touch to the garment, and covers a deep neckline. It is very simple to knit; see the description below.

## Neckline

At a height of 5 cm from the beginning of the armholes, divide the knitting in half and work each part separately. Decreases are made after the first edge stitch (slanted to the left) on the left side of the front and before the last edge stitch (slanted to the right, i.e., through the front loops) on the right side. Perform the decreases in the following order: 11 times in every knit row, 18 times in every 2nd knit row. Bind off the remaining shoulder stitches.

For the trim, choose yarn half a tone darker or lighter; for a festive model, yarn with lurex is suitable. Work single crochet stitches around the neckline.

## Decoration

For the cords, knit strips of 10 stitches in stockinette stitch. Cross them at the base of the neckline and sew them on by hand with matching thread.
