Season 2 of the TV series "From Leftover Yarn" — Episode 8
I usually don't give exact measurements or stitch counts because scraps vary, and I just want to show you the idea. If you have yarn similar to mine — semi-cotton Gazal Baby Cotton and Jeans — here's how I knitted it. I used size 3 knitting needles and used 220 grams of yarn. The finished size is S–M. For this top/vest you don't need precise calculations: you can measure the widest part on yourself, cast on some stitches and knit in the round from the bottom up. That's what I did — cast on stitches and worked a 1x1 rib. After that I worked in the round with different patterns and purl ridges until the armholes. Then I shaped a smoothly rounded armhole and knitted the back and front separately. Next I created a deep neckline and bound off the shoulders using the three-needle bind-off. I finished the neckline and sleeves with a mock Kitchener stitch and 1x1 rib, seaming them with a needle. Final measurements: width 44 cm, height 55 cm, sleeve 20 cm, neck shaping 12 cm, ribbing 3–4 cm.
