How to turn a regular scarf into a turban hat
In spring, you want to refresh your wardrobe or at least add a few original pieces to it. For cool weather, you can make a turban hat out of a scarf in just half an hour. Such headwear will definitely make you stand out from the crowd, especially since you can decorate it as you wish with a brooch, embroidery, or rhinestones.
You can make a turban from a ready-made scarf or knit one using any bulky stitch, such as brioche stitch or cables. Follow the tips and you will easily handle the work.
## Making a trendy turban from a scarf
A scarf with a beautiful pattern, 12-18 cm wide and 80-90 cm long, is suitable for the hat. To turn it into a turban hat, mark the center with a pin, marker, or needle by folding the piece in half. Lay it out on the table with the wrong side facing up. If the scarf is knitted with a reversible stitch, this step can be skipped.
Next, fold the left half toward the center, and then the right (or vice versa, depending on what you prefer).
Turn the hat over while holding the folded parts. Fold the edges of the scarf toward the bottom. The right and left halves need to be aligned with the center mark.
All that remains is to sew 2 seams: a vertical one from the fold to the beginning of the bottom part, and a horizontal one.
This hat fits a head size of 54-56 cm, it is very elastic and does not ruin your hairstyle. If you used a solid-colored scarf in a neutral shade for the turban but want to dress it up for a special occasion, simply pin on a beautiful, bright brooch.

Such a simple method is a real find for beginners. For decoration, you can knit cables on the scarf (if you are knitting it specifically for this, of course). The cables will create volume and texture. The main thing is not to mix up the right and wrong sides when folding.
