How to Make Kanzashi Flowers

Flowers made in the kanzashi technique can decorate all kinds of things and dress up a gift beautifully.

I want to show you how to make pretty **apple-blossom-colored flowers.

You'll need:**

• white satin ribbon, 5 cm wide;
• swamp-green satin ribbon for the leaves, 2.5 cm wide;
• ready-made double-sided stamens.

**How to make it

Cut squares 5 cm by 5 cm from the white satin ribbon and finish the edges. Fold diagonally and pinch the corners together. Fold again and pinch again.

Then fold a third time, as shown in the photo, and trim the ends by 5 mm. Trim the bottom edge by 3 mm. Seal the ends together with a flame and squeeze hard. Turn the petal right side out.

You'll need five petals for each flower.

You'll need five double-sided stamens for each flower. Fold them in half and glue the bottom to secure the bunch.

Glue the petals together one at a time, applying glue along the edges. Insert the stamens before the last join. Glue the first and fifth petals together. Glue the bottom of the flower around the stamens so they don't fall out.

**Leaves

Cut squares 2.5 cm by 2.5 cm from the swamp-green ribbon. Fold in half diagonally. Then tuck the corners toward the tip of the triangle. Seal the ends to the bottom of the leaf with a flame, without trimming.

Group the leaves into sprigs of three and five leaves.
