Cotton Flowers – "Growing" a Stylish Interior Decoration

In winter, you want softness not only in your wardrobe but also in your home. You can add fluffiness with blankets, slippers, and pillows. Or you can make a trendy decor element that delights with its inherent coziness – a branch with cotton bolls.

Finding the base for your cotton decor—the branches—is no problem: just take a walk in the nearest park. But let's look at the cotton bolls in more detail 😉

I'm afraid I might disappoint the lovers of all things beautiful )) But for elegant eco-decor like cotton branches, you will need something as prosaic as recycled materials. Specifically, used cardboard egg cartons. You should also stock up on cotton wool or polyester fiberfill, a brush, brown embroidery floss, and acrylic paint in the same shade.

Cut one cell from the container and shape it into a calyx. Don't try to make the cups perfectly even or with identical edges. This doesn't happen in nature, so slight irregularities will actually mimic naturalness.

Apply paint using several shades of brown. The shape will soften and become pliable – fold the petals inward and wait for the surface to dry. If desired, you can also cut shorter shoots from the main leaves.

Roll a small piece of polyester fiberfill or cotton wool into a ball and sew from the center to four sides, dividing it into quarters.

Place the fluffy ball into the cup, the bottom of which has been pre-coated with hot glue. You get cozy cotton flowers that can be arranged on a branch, a wreath, or simply placed in a vase 🥰
