How to Sew a Plastic Bag Holder Doll — Pattern and Tutorial

If you have a bag full of plastic bags in your kitchen, you urgently need to do something about it! Specifically, sew a cozy and spacious bag keeper.

Instead of legs, it has a pouch gathered with an elastic band. This is where the bags are stored.

## To sew this doll, you will need to prepare:

• fabric in three colors;
• narrow elastic;
• yarn for hair;
• stuffing;
• decorative elements — ribbons, buttons, a hair buckle, acrylic paint for eyes, blush;
• thread, needles, and other tools.

## Cutting

Below are the patterns for the main pieces. Choose the size of the doll's clothes arbitrarily, taking into account the expected number of bags. However, keep in mind that the pieces should be proportional.

Cutting out:

• dress with integrated sleeves - 2 pieces;
• dress panel without sleeves (use this piece to hide internal seams and make the front of the doll denser; if you are using linen fabric for the dress, a second layer is not needed due to its density) - 1 piece;
• head-arms piece - 2 pieces;
• collar - 2 pieces;
• apron - 1 piece.

## Sewing

Sew the head-arms pieces together, leaving an opening for stuffing. Turn right side out. Stuff the head and neck firmly; stuff the arms more loosely, and do not stuff the elbows at all so the arms can bend easily. Sew the opening closed.

Sew the collar pieces together, cut along the line marked on the pattern. Turn through this cut and iron. Attach the collar to the neck. Place the sleeveless dress panel onto one of the dress panels with sleeves (both pieces wrong side up) and sew along the side seams.

Sew the top sleeve seams and attach lace trim to the bottom edges.

Now join both panels — the double front and the back, sewing the bottom of the sleeves and the sides in one seam. Fold the bottom of the dress and sew to create a casing for the elastic.

Turn the dress right side out.

Sew lace to the bottom of the apron, gather the top, and sew it to the dress.

Hide the top raw edges of the apron under a waistband strip.

Now it's time to dress the doll. Gather the top of the dress and sew it under the collar.

Insert the elastic into the casing, tighten, and sew the ends together.

Decorate the doll's face — paint the eyes and cheeks, attach yarn hair, and tie bows.

Put the bags into the pouch. That's it, your plastic bag holder doll is ready!
