Make a simple pinecone ornament for the tree in just 15 minutes

There's hardly any time left until the New Year, and many of us are still wondering what new and interesting things to decorate the tree with. I'm sure you have plenty of empty beverage bottles at home—sparkling water, beer. They can be put to good use - make simple pinecone ornaments for the tree that look very much like the real thing.

Take an empty plastic bottle of a suitable shade, and cut squares of different sizes from it. You will need 12 of them for one pinecone.

Round off the edges of each square, forming something like a daisy.

After cutting out all the 'flowers', light a candle and lightly singe the edges of the 'petals' so that the petal edges fold down slightly. At this point the flower will turn into a little cup. Work carefully and at a distance, so that the thin plastic only deforms a little but does not melt.

After preparing all the parts, lay them out on the table and, according to size, assemble our pinecone like a little pyramid: place the smaller blanks into the larger pieces. Make a hole in the center of the pyramid. You can use an awl for this. If it's hard to make the hole with a cold awl, you can heat the point and it will be easier to pierce the construction.

Thread a bead on a wire through the hole, which will be the little tail of our ornament.

Make a small tail out of beads. Cut a spruce branch from a green-tinted plastic bottle and also singe the edges over the candle. Attach the branch to the pinecone and you can hang the ornament on the tree!
