Coverlock vs Separate Machines: Which is Best for Knitwear?

Hello everyone! I've been sewing for many years with my old setup of a standard sewing machine and an overlocker. I want to grow and make higher-quality knitwear, and for that, I understand I need a coverstitch machine.

I came across an article online about coverlocks (this one), and I'm wondering if it's worth getting a coverlock or if I should buy two separate machines?

Well, first, sergers differ in stitch types, working speed, and the number of sewing operations.
And secondly, I agree with @Squirrel: if the machine will be used for family needs — that's one thing, but if it's being bought for a business, professional sewing requires investment. It's wiser to get a good serger and a coverstitch machine 👍

No all-purpose machine can be better than two specialized ones — that's already an axiom. I use a serger; for small sewing projects it's more than enough for me.
Maybe the girls will chime in now and share their experience...
