Coronavirus: An Archived Community Note in 14 Points
This is an archived community post written during the early COVID-19 pandemic. Its ‘14 points’ reflect the worries and everyday discussions of that time; they are not current medical or public-health guidance.
How to read this archive note
The original post discussed self-isolation, distancing, hand hygiene, and masks. Do not use its old statements about transmission, mask types, duration of use, disinfection, or quarantine as instructions: current recommendations depend on the situation, location, and individual circumstances.
Where to find current information
For current COVID-19 information, consult the World Health Organization and your local public-health authority. In the United States, see the CDC’s respiratory-illness prevention guidance. If you have symptoms or need treatment, follow the advice of local health services.
What remains from the original appeal
The early post was above all an appeal to remember the people around us. That part has not aged:
- think about the people around you;
- show patience and respect;
- support others and do not make life harder for them;
- share the help you are able to offer;
- be kinder to one another.
How did you cope with anxiety and irritation at that time? How did you help loved ones, or how did someone help you? Share your memories in the comments—someone’s experience of support may still matter today.

I agree. In the early pandemic, small acts of neighbourly care—taking out rubbish or leaving groceries at a door—felt meaningful. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones!
