Beautiful autumn scarf from a T‑shirt — no knitting or sewing
If you have a couple of old unwanted T‑shirts in reserve that you'd hate to throw away and don't plan to wear, you can make a stylish and beautiful scarf from them. It's best to use knit T‑shirts, they stretch, don't wrinkle, and will hold the shape of the scarf perfectly in this method.
From the T‑shirts cut strips about 30-35 cm wide. The length of the strip should equal the desired circumference of the scarf. If a strip is shorter, you can join several strips together on a sewing machine or using fusible web adhesive.
Fold the strips, as shown in the photo. Thread one end of the U‑shaped piece under the second piece and lay it on top. Repeat the same procedure with the other edge. You'll end up with a piece like this.
Continue weaving the ends of the future scarf until only free ends about 20-30 cm long remain.
Join the inner fabric edges with fusible tape and do the same on the other side of the scarf. Join the ends of the scarf with the same fusible web, and our T‑shirt snood is ready!
I really like scarves like these, especially when they're embellished with decorations.
