Varieties of Men's Shirt Cuffs

Under a jacket, a shirt is barely visible. The exceptions are the collar and the cuffs.

## Straight-edged cuffs

This is the most common type of cuff, usually found on everyday shirts. The corners on these cuffs are square, and the cuff fastens with one or two buttons. This type of cuff is used on dress shirts worn under a jacket or on casual shirts, such as those worn with jeans or a sports coat.

## Mitered cuffs

Usually, the corners are cut at a 45-degree angle. This cuff style is suitable for formal wear. Mitered cuffs are also used on uniform shirts. Like the previous option, they fasten with one or two buttons.

## Rounded cuffs

A rounded corner on the cuffs suggests a casual and relaxed look. Cuffs with a smoothly rounded corner are quite versatile; shirts with these cuffs pair well with jackets and blazers.

## French cuffs

Also known as double cuffs, they are twice as long as standard cuffs. This allows them to be folded back and fastened with cufflinks or silk knots. This type of cuff is used on shirts for evening wear.
