A step-by-step guide to sewing fleece slipper socks for children: three sole layers, two upper pieces, 0.7 cm and 1 cm seam allowances, a 3 cm opening in the lining, and turning.
BeginnerFreeA pair of soft, lined children’s slipper socks.
The archived text retains a file identifier but not a working link. The illustration shows paper sole and upper pieces, but the source provides no accessible size chart or material quantities. Before cutting, use a separately tested pattern in the needed size and calculate the required fabric for that pattern.
The slippers can be sewn from fleece scraps or warm knit fabric and decorated as you like.
The finished slipper socks are soft and lightweight; the design is suitable for children, and you can choose the decoration yourself.
Prepare three sole pieces—from non-slip fabric, fleece, and lining fabric—and two upper pieces from fleece and lining fabric. The lining can also be made from fleece, brushed cotton, or flannel. Cut the outer pieces from a tested pattern with a 0.7 cm seam allowance; the upper piece is given on the fold.
The archived source calls the pattern “for all sizes,” but no working link or file remains. Do not start cutting without a separately tested pattern in the needed size.
Layer the non-slip sole with the fleece insole and stitch around the perimeter of both pieces.
Stitch the fleece upper piece along the heel seam.
Mark the centers of the upper and sole, match the marks, and pin the finished upper to the underside of the insole. Ease the upper slightly around the toe for a good fit.
Stitch the pieces, trim the seam allowances to 0.5 cm, remove bulk, and clip the curves. Turn the piece right side out and repeat for the second slipper.
Sew the two lining pieces in the same way as the outer slipper, but with a 1 cm seam allowance. When sewing the heel, leave a 3 cm unstitched opening for turning.
Turn the outer slipper right side out, insert it into the lining piece, baste around the upper edge, and stitch.
Turn the slippers right side out through the unstitched opening in the lining.
If the slippers slip off the foot, stitch 1 cm from the top edge and insert narrow flat elastic. To make the sole less slippery, the source suggests applying a few drops of hot glue.
