If you have everything you need on hand, assembling this kind of terrarium will take no more than an hour.
Any clear glass container will work as the base for the terrarium: a coffee pot, a jar, a small bowl, or an aquarium. And it doesn't have to be a new container. I will be using an old aquarium that has been gathering dust in the closet for more than 2 years. Since living plants will "live" in our aquarium, the container needs to be washed and disinfected. After that, place a drainage layer on the bottom. This can be gravel, pebbles, or expanded clay, which should be scalded with boiling water before being placed into the aquarium. A layer of 15 mm will be enough, which will protect the roots from rotting if you water the flowers too heavily.

Pour 8-10 mm of charcoal on top of the drainage layer (this will serve as a natural antiseptic and fertilizer for the plants). Be sure to add only natural charcoal (flower shops have plenty of it for sale), but under no circumstances should you use charcoal for a grill or barbecue.
After that, you can add the potting soil. This can be either old soil from another pot or a substrate purchased at the store.

Now we can begin planting. Absolutely any flowers will work for terrariums; the main thing required of you is to think through the composition so that the terrarium itself looks attractive and eye-catching. I opted for low-maintenance flowers that require minimal care.

Now we move on to decorating the terrarium. Add pebbles, moss, twigs, and pinecones to the container—in short, anything you consider appropriate for your arrangement. Our terrarium is ready!
