Compact Fabric Glasses Case with a Button Closure

For crafters, glasses are often an essential accessory. Unfortunately, embroidery, knitting, and sewing are fine, meticulous work.🙁 But on the bright side, we can sew a glasses case ourselves that everyone will envy!👍

To sew it, we will need:

• scraps of cotton and plush fabric—sized to your glasses plus seam allowances;

• narrow matching ribbon for the loop;

• a small-diameter button matching the fabric;

• thread, sewing tools.

How to Sew It

Cut two pieces for the case—an outer piece from cotton and a lining from plush. Adjust the dimensions in the photo to fit your glasses, and don't forget to add a little for seam allowances.

Fold the ribbon into a loop and pin it in place. The loop should be centered along the short edge of the case, so mark the placement based on your own measurements.

Stitch the rectangles together along the long side. Note that the lining should be narrower than the outer piece.

Place the short edges right sides together, pin, and stitch.

Turn the case lining side out. Pin the raw edges together. Stitch the seam, then finish the edges with a serger or a zigzag stitch.

Turn the nearly finished case right side out. Sew on the button.
