Bright Lemon Slice Coin Purse – Keep Summer Going!

This fun little coin purse is also a great project for school crafts or art class. It's easy and fun to make, so I definitely recommend it! 👍

In the original tutorial, the purse is sewn from faux leather in two shades—yellow and pink—but we loved the felt version even more. In my opinion, it's easier and turns out just as cute—if anything, even better: a felt purse is soft, flexible, and washable.

Now for the process :) Cut 2 matching ovals from your chosen material.

Tap into your creativity and sketch an impromptu citrus slice, then cut out all the small details (work on the yellow pattern piece). On the pink pattern piece, cut out only the opening for the zipper (approximately 9x1 cm).

Topstitch around all the openings, then insert the zipper (simply trim the excess zipper tail to fit the size of the purse).

Fold the coin purse in half along the zipper, secure the edges with clips, and trim away any uneven or protruding parts of the pattern pieces.

Sew the final seam along the perimeter, and for good measure, reinforce the edge with a zigzag stitch.
