How to Quickly and Easily Straighten Yarn for Reknitting
I don't know about you, but I've got a whole bag of yarn saved up from projects I unraveled in the past. There are big and small skeins, but they all need straightening out, otherwise the knitted fabric will come out uneven. The method I use to solve this problem could easily be called a "grandma's trick" — you don't need any special tools to pull it off. The main requirement is that the skeins should be reasonably tight and the same size. Put them in a colander, set it over a pot for a steam bath, and cover with a lid.
Turn them every 5 minutes. Once the yarn has straightened out on all sides and gotten damp, take it off and lay it out on a towel to dry. This way you can bring even yarn that's already been used a few times back to life. I usually knit warm socks and slipper socks from yarn like this. The method works for yarn of any fiber content, including natural wool. After this treatment, the yarn looks fresher, the nap fluffs up, and it regains its springiness. Не знаю как у вас, а у меня накопился целый мешок пряжи от распущенных в прошлом изделий. Есть большие и маленькие моточки, но все они нуждаются в выпрямлении, иначе при вязании полотно будет неровным. Способ, который я использую для решения проблемы, можно смело назвать "бабушкиным" - для реализации задачи не нужны никакие дополнительные приспособления. Главное условие мотки должны быть в меру тугими и одинаковыми по размеру. Складываем их в дуршлаг, устанавливаем на кастрюлю на водяную баню и накрываем крышкой.
Каждые 5 минут переворачиваем. Когда пряжа выровняется со всех сторон и станет влажной, снимаем ее и выкладываем на полотенце высохнуть. Таким образом можно вернуть к жизни даже нитки, которые были в употреблении несколько раз. Из них я, как правило, вяжу теплые носки и следки. Способ подходит для пряжи с любым составом, в том числе натуральной шерсти. После обработки нитки выглядят свежее, поднимается ворс и восстанавливается упругость. Проверьте и убедитесь сами!
