How to Remove Pilling from Wool Coats: Care Tips for Knitwear

I've run into a problem. I bought a custom-knit coat. I don't know the exact fiber content and can't ask right now because I accidentally deleted the contact number and don't have time to visit, but the fabric looks like a wool yarn weave—very delicate, soft, and warm. Pilling has already appeared inside the sleeves and on the pockets. It's pilling quite badly on the inside.

Could you tell me if there is a way to get rid of the pilling once and for all? I once read that you can trim them off wool items with scissors and they will disappear. Or maybe this fuzziness will go away after washing? I've grown to love this coat, and it would be a shame if it lost its appearance soon.

Точный состав ткани не знаю, а спросить сейчас не могу, так как номер случайно удалила, а поехать - времени нет, но ткань очень похожа на переплетение шерстяной пряжи, очень нежная, мягусенькая и тёплая. Внутри рукавов, и на карманах уже появились катышки. Изнутри вообще сильно скатывается.

Подскажите, как-то можно от катышек избавиться,чтобы раз и навсегда? Когда-то прочитала, что на шерстяных изделиях их можно срезать ножницами и они пропадут. Или может после стирки эта мохнатость пропадет? Но я очень полюбила это пальто, и будет обидно, если в скором времени оно совсем потеряет свой внешний вид.

I don't know how relevant the question is now, but I'll put my two cents in too. :)

Pills will form constantly, alas. They are most common on wool and knitwear with added synthetic fibers.

The mechanism is as follows: thick and light natural fibers roll onto thin and strong synthetic ones. The more pronounced the fiber content of the fabric, the more likely you'll need to periodically trim the pills. They don't form on cotton, unless it's a lie. If the label on bed linen says, for example, that it consists of 100% cotton, and it pills - you've been deceived.

Pills can either be shaved off with a single-blade disposable razor (like in the USSR - those don't get clogged), or you can purchase a fabric shaver. It's inexpensive, 100-150-200 UAH. Just make sure to clean it after every use, otherwise it has a tendency to catch fire (the mechanism heats up, and the pills burn wonderfully).
