How to make an ottoman from pipe scraps

After renovations, we often have leftover materials. It's a shame to throw such things away, but there's usually nowhere to put them. So, wallpaper, tiles, and pipe scraps sit in our sheds, balconies, pantries, and summer houses.

Meanwhile, some of these things can definitely be put to good use! For example, you can make a wonderful ottoman out of plastic pipe scraps.

Its advantage is that it won't be afraid of moisture. Therefore, it can stand in places that are extreme from this point of view – in the bathroom, on the balcony, or on a summer veranda.

## So, what we need:

• pipe scraps;
• glue;
• loose filler;
• paint;
• rubber mats in two colors;
• a sheet of thick plastic for the base.

How to make it

Cut several pieces of pipe to the same height. *Determine the quantity and height yourself, depending on your available "supplies."

Glue the pipes together and attach the entire structure to the plastic base. Carefully trim the base to follow the contour of the pipes.

If necessary, sand down any burrs on the top and bottom edges.

Paint the frame of the ottoman and let it dry.

Pour in the filler, leaving enough space for the soft inserts.

Now, take regular* rubber bath mats and cut them into strips of the required width. The width of the strip should be twice the size of the finished detail. Fold the strip in half and cut it into "noodles." Make the cuts between the raised areas of the mat, stopping 10 cm from the edge.

Roll the strip into a coil (decide what diameter you need based on the diameter of the plastic pipe). Insert the mat coil into the pipe. Keep in mind that it should fit quite snugly.

Fill all the pipes with these soft inserts. For a nice look, you can use mats of different colors.
