Lilac Cosmos and Sky Blue – 2 Creative Ways to Dye Easter Eggs

These methods are ridiculously simple, completely natural, and the final result looks like pure magic. At least that's what my kids think :sneaky:

The first method creates a delicate sky-blue shade using regular red cabbage!

You will need half of a small head like this:

Chop it into small pieces, cover with water, and simmer for about 40 minutes – during this time, the cabbage will release a dark burgundy color.

Let the broth cool and add vinegar: for 0.5 liters, you will need about 4 tablespoons. Submerge eggs with white (!) shells into our "magic" potion and forget about them for at least 4-5 hours. The longer the eggs stay in the dye, the more saturated the final shade will be 😉

Decorate the dyed and completely dried eggs with "gold" acrylic splashes.

It turns out incredibly beautiful!

The second method turns average eggs into almost cosmic lilac-colored boulders – everyone who sees them for the first time can't figure out how they were dyed 🙃 Sharing the secret: to transform them, you only need 1 bag of hibiscus tea!

Pour the whole pack (80 g) into a pot, cover with water, boil for 15 minutes, and set aside.

Place hard-boiled eggs into the still-warm water – they should be submerged in the thick of the hibiscus leaves and completely covered by the broth.

For a dark lilac shade, I recommend leaving the eggs in the pot overnight. Naturally, less time will result in a lighter color 👌

The hibiscus imprints create a fantastic effect and a unique pattern every time – you definitely won't end up with two identical eggs 😍
