DIY Fairy-Tale LED Night Light: Safe Jar Craft
This archive project makes a small fairy-tale night light in a glass jar with battery-powered LED lights.
Use a small glass jar with a lid, a labeled battery LED set, luminescent paint, tulle, lace, or mesh, a hair dryer, and a glue gun. This is not a toy: glass, batteries, small parts, and hot glue require adult assembly and supervision.
Cut fabric into small wings and glue each piece to an LED light. Add a small amount of luminescent paint to the wings and light fronts, allowing every component to dry fully.
Decorate the lower outside of the jar with grass, bushes, butterflies, flowers, stars, or other night-forest motifs. Keep paint, glue, and loose decoration away from the battery pack and electrical contacts.
After everything is dry, secure the battery pack as its manufacturer directs and arrange the LEDs in the jar. Do not seal or modify the battery pack, leave the light unattended or on overnight, or use it if any part becomes warm, wet, damaged, or behaves unexpectedly.
