Relaxing with Decor: Designs on Hot Stones

How do you turn an ordinary cobblestone into an interior decoration? I suggest a simple painting method that will appeal to more than just children: besides the relaxation and pleasure of the process, you'll end up with a very unusual art object. Stones painted this way can be placed in a vase, used to decorate a floral area, or turned into a gift magnet.

For this project, you will need river or sea pebbles, wax crayons, and... a preheated oven. The stones need to be "baked" for 10-15 minutes until they are hot.

Now, the wax will readily melt on their surface, creating whimsical patterns. Work from the center outward and don't be afraid to blend shades together.

If you use rounded stones instead of flat ones, you can achieve another interesting effect where the paint drips down, turning the cobblestone into a real mini-volcano 😍

To make the stones look even more "cosmic," splatter them with white acrylic paint using an old toothbrush. If you like, grab a size 0 brush and paint constellations on the surface. Why not create a fairy-tale galaxy?

Once completely dry, the paint takes on a matte finish, losing its gloss. To preserve the "polished" look, simply coat the stones with varnish. This will also help protect the surface from scratches and damage 😉
