How to make cute New Year's glass decor

For the New Year, you want everything to speak of the holiday: every little detail, small decor, and minor accessory should convey the festive atmosphere. To make your New Year's table truly festive, it should have more than just "a bowl of Olivier salad and a tray of herring under a fur coat." I suggest making beautiful and delicate glass decor that can be used for any family celebration later on, or even turned into a family heirloom.

To create this decor, you will need:

• glasses;
• acrylic paint (white and green);
• an old toothbrush;
• decor (leaves, flowers);
• glue suitable for glass;
• aerosol varnish.

Recalling school art lessons, use a toothbrush to spray white paint onto the surface of the glass. Since the glass is covered with acrylic paint, the piece will need to be left for several hours for the paint to dry completely.

Decorative leaves and flowers can be made of foamiran, polymer clay, or plastic. Glue the decor onto the glass, forming a cute composition. You can also decorate the glass with beads, sequins, glitter, or bugle beads.

Using a regular paintbrush, paint green sprigs near the flowers for a perfectly harmonious composition.

During the decorating process, I felt the composition lacked sparkle, so I decided to dust the surface of the decor with edible luster dust (though you can replace it with regular glitter).

Thoroughly coat the surface of the decor with varnish so that the solution penetrates all the folds and cracks. It is important to leave the top 2-3 centimeters of the glass untouched. This is necessary to completely eliminate the risk of potential poisoning from the chemical composition of the varnish when using the glass for its intended purpose.
