DIY Upcycled Tin Can and Clothespin Storage Box

I have a million little bits and bobs and boxes for them in my house. Everything is handmade because I've kept many things from my youth that have lost their original look. Here is one simple idea.

You can't even tell from the photo that it's based on a simple tin can, but if you use your imagination, you can make all sorts of things.

## Crafting tips If you decide to make something similar, I have a few important tips. Coat every wooden piece with wood stain or varnish. I didn't do that, and even though a lot of time has passed, the clothespins look terrible; with varnish or stain, they would have a vibrant color and last a long time.

Be sure to start with the fabric and only then move on to the clothespins. If you do it the other way around, you'll be left with glue marks like this. You could sand them off, but then you'll damage the fabric.

Choose decorations for the lid that are moisture-resistant. Beads and painted ornaments work best. Alternatively, coat everything with glue or hairspray.

По фото и не видно, что в основу взята простая жестяная банка, но если проявить фантазию, можно и не такое сделать.

Рекомендации по изготовлению
Если решите делать что-то подобное, дам несколько важных советов. Каждую деревянную деталь покрывайте морилкой или лаком. Я этого не сделала, и пусть времени прошло много, но прищепки ужасно выглядят, а с лаком или морилкой у них будет яркий цвет и прослужат долго.

Обязательно начинайте с ткани и только после приступайте к прищепкам. Если сделать наоборот, останется вот такой вот след от клея. Его можно наждачной бумагой счесать, но тогда повредите ткань.

Украшения на крышке выбирайте такие, которые не боятся влаги и были. Лучше если это бусины и крашеные игрушки. Или же покрывайте все клеем или лаком для волос.

Don't be offended by the criticism, but I would advise you to throw away the glue that leaves such terrible drips.
The top can still be decorated somehow to hide the presence of the glue, but I have no idea how to save the beads ((
From personal experience, I can recommend Moment gel glue. And Kapelka glue is also good. They are both universal, sufficiently liquid (even if you want to, you can't apply too much), and most importantly – they are transparent.

I once saw a similar jewelry box: to make dusting easier, the lid was decorated with a transparent hemisphere from a LOL doll. Instead of a handle/holder, there was a convex button. It looked very unusual and beautiful: there were delicate flowers under the hemisphere. And they weren't afraid of dust either ))
