Chocolate Cinnamon Candle: Archive Safety Notes
This archived chocolate-and-cinnamon candle craft is decorative, not edible. Hot wax can burn, fragrance can irritate, and candles create a fire risk. Use only candle-safe materials, keep food and non-candle ingredients out of the wax, never leave a candle burning unattended, and keep it away from children, pets, drafts, and flammable items.
The scent of cinnamon and chocolate evokes the most pleasant emotions: it calms, lifts your mood, improves appetite, and even acts as an aphrodisiac! Want to fill your home with a sweet aroma? Then try making chocolate scented candles. You can decorate them beautifully and give them to a loved one, light them during a romantic dinner, or use them as natural incense.

To make a scented candle, you will need
- Natural wax or several old wax candles. This option is the best, but if you do not have wax at home, you can use paraffin household candles, which must first be cut into pieces and crushed.
- A container in which you can melt the wax.
- Cinnamon sticks and cinnamon essential oil.
- Dark chocolate shavings.
Procedure
Melt the paraffin or wax in a water bath to a liquid state, but do not bring to a boil.

Lower two wicks into the container to be used as a mold (a jar with a lid, a wine glass, a glass tumbler), having previously dipped their ends in wax and glued them to the bottom. Secure them at the top by threading them through sushi sticks.

Pour the chocolate shavings into the hot wax or paraffin and add a few drops of cinnamon essential oil. The amount of chocolate can be adjusted; on average, a 70 g candle requires 1-2 crushed squares. Pour the mixture into a mold (for example, made of foil) and let cool. Trim the excess wick.

If you want the aroma to be richer and more natural, grate about half a teaspoon of cinnamon into the still-hot wax. Use a suitable container for a decorative candle. In my case, it is a jar with a lid, which preserves the aroma well.

A jar or glass for a gift can be decorated with natural materials: cinnamon sticks, pine needles, dried citrus slices. Such a candle will decorate the home and make an original gift!

I can imagine how delicious it smells! Usually chocolate-scented candles smell too synthetic; I prefer other fragrances. I think a few drops of vanilla extract in the mixture would be wonderful! [Editor's safety note: Food extracts are not automatically safe for candles; use only candle-safe fragrance products.]
