DIY Mango Sugar Body Scrub: Fresh-Use Safety
This is an archive recipe for a mango and cane-sugar body scrub. It is a skin product, not food. Mango contains vitamin A, but this mixture is not a treatment and does not make medical skin claims.

Ingredients
- 1 part ripe mango pulp (¼ cup)
- 2 parts cane sugar (½ cup)
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 3–5 drops orange essential oil
- 5 minutes
Make the scrub
Mix softened coconut oil with the sugar, then add the orange essential oil. If the coconut oil has hardened, soften it gently in a water bath. Mash the mango pulp with a fork, add it to the scrub, and mix thoroughly until even.

Make only the amount you will use immediately: fresh fruit mixtures can spoil. Do not eat the scrub or use it on eyes, lips, broken, inflamed, or freshly shaved skin. Essential oils and food ingredients can irritate or trigger allergies; patch-test a small amount on intact skin first and stop use if burning, itching, swelling, or a rash occurs.

It is a pity this scrub will not last long: it needs to be made before each use, otherwise the sugar dissolves and the fruit mixture can ferment. I think expensive cane sugar can be replaced with regular beet sugar without affecting the result. If honey is used instead of sugar, it could make a pleasant body-wrap mixture, especially during the heating season. [Editor’s note: Honey and fresh-food mixtures can irritate or trigger allergies; do not use them on broken or inflamed skin, and make only what you will use immediately.]
