How to quickly and easily refresh old house slippers
I found my grandmother's old slippers in the closet and decided to give them a new life, armed with felt, glue, and sewing tools. The slippers that were long overdue for the trash can have become fun and cute footwear, ready to last for another season.

Cut off the back of the old slippers to turn them into soft slides, and remove the insole. Using the old insoles as a template, cut out new ones from felt and glue the felt insoles into the slippers.

We won't make a separate pattern for the upper part of the slippers. Instead, take a piece of felt and drape it over the slippers. Pin the felt to the slippers and trim away the excess. Now we have the blanks for our slippers ready.

Stitch the new upper parts of the slippers on a sewing machine only along the top edge. "Dress" the slippers in the felt. Glue the unstitched ends to the inside and outside. Cover any exposed areas of the original slipper with small strips of felt. To give the "new" footwear a finished look, add a trim made of decorative ribbon, which is also glued on.

Time for the final decoration. Fold small strips of felt, 2-2.5 cm wide, into an accordion shape and stitch them on the machine. Then, glue these ruffles to the edge of the upper part of the slippers. At this point, I thought the slippers looked a bit dull, so I decided to cut out a sun from felt and glue cute faces onto it.

Here are the slippers we made after an hour of work!

I used medium-density felt. Of course, you can use material of different densities. If there are doubts that thin or medium-density felt won't be durable, you can cut each piece in duplicate, which will add reliability during wear. But so far, there are no complaints about such slippers))) The kids are already asking for some too))
