Simple and Cute Mobile Phone Case

Step 1

If you have felt scraps, two free hours, and a bit of enthusiasm, you can sew a cute phone case.

Step 2

To sew it, besides felt (2–3 mm thick), prepare decorative lace, wooden beads, thread, cardboard, Moment glue, scissors, and a ruler. And of course, the phone itself.

First, take its measurements: length, width, and thickness.

Cut the case piece as a rectangle. Its height equals two phone lengths plus two thicknesses. Its width equals the phone's width plus two thicknesses plus 2 mm.

My case will be striped. Choose the color and width of the stripes as you like. The main thing is to keep everything symmetrical around the center line.

Step 3

Place the strips edge to edge as tightly as possible and stitch them together with any decorative stitch.

Step 4

If you wish, trim the outer corners to a curve.
Glue lace onto one of the seams. It will look prettier and be sturdier.

Step 5

Let the glue dry, then stitch the lace on with a zigzag stitch.
Trim the excess threads and glue down the ends.

Now fold the strip in half, making sure the joining seams match at both ends. Baste the case in this position.

Step 6

Sew the edges with an overcast stitch, adding beads. If you do bead embroidery, you will recognize this stitch. Begin sewing at the bottom, from the center. Work first in one direction, then in the other.

Step 7

Overcast the edges up to the start of the curve. Then take several stitches back so the seam does not come undone.

Hide the thread tail within the felt's thickness.
