There are 2 ways to secure the ribbon:
1. For ribbons 0.2–1.2 cm wide. After you finish embroidering an element or run out of ribbon in your needle, be sure to bring the ribbon to the wrong side. Cut the ribbon from the needle, leaving a 1 cm tail, singe the end with a lighter, and carefully press it to the printed fabric (while the ribbon is melting, but not burning!).

2. For ribbons 2 cm and wider, also bring them to the wrong side, cut them from the needle leaving 1.5–2 cm, singe the ends, and stitch them down (I use monofilament thread or fishing line).
