A practical tie-dye project for a white cotton T-shirt: twist the fabric from the centre, secure it with rubber bands and apply three colours of DYLON hand dye.

I tried tie-dye on a white cotton T-shirt for my daughter, using DYLON hand dye in three colours.
Prepare the T-shirt
Lay the T-shirt on a flat surface and twist the fabric from the centre with two fingers. When it forms a tight spiral, secure it with ordinary stationery rubber bands.
Prepare the dyes
Mix each colour with salt and water according to the manufacturer's instructions. Pour the solutions into small plastic squeeze bottles so the colour is easier to apply and your hands stay clean.
Dye the fabric
Place the twisted T-shirt on a rack and apply the three colours to one side, then repeat on the other side. Leave it for 45–50 minutes.
Finish
Wash the T-shirt gently with detergent and let it dry. This produces a bright spiral pattern, and the colour combination can be changed for each garment.
