How to Turn a Scarf into an Infinity Scarf, Stole, and Wrap

I stumbled upon a square scarf in my closet that I hadn't worn in years. Since I'm not going to wear it, but hate to throw it away, an interesting idea came to mind: to make something new and original out of it—namely, an infinity scarf, a stole, and a cute wrap.

Fold the scarf into fourths diagonally and cut it. After that, finish the raw edges of the scarf with a serger or a zigzag stitch. To give it the neatest, most attractive look, edge it with several rows of double crochet.

Join the triangles with crochet as shown in the example. Match the yarn color to the shade of the outer edging row.

Try it on as a scarf or stole. If you like how it looks, you can keep the stole to wear. You can leave the edges of the stole as they are, or embellish them with fringe or tassels. If you don't care for this option, continue working.

To make an infinity scarf, join the ends of the stole into a ring to achieve this result. Try it on again. If everything looks good, keep it as is. If not, continue on.
