How to Sew a Chenille-Technique Scarf

Step 1

I have already explained what the chenille technique is, how to choose fabric for it, and how to make chenille fabric.
Now I want to show how you can quickly make an exclusive scarf in this technique yourself.

Step 2

You will need:
• three kinds of fabric in coordinating colors;
• sewing tools.

Method
Mark and cut three pieces to the required length and width, marking at a 45-degree angle to the grainline.

Step 3

Arrange them in the chosen order to form a "sandwich," then stitch along the length, placing the rows of stitching along the long edge.

Step 4

Then cut through the layers of fabric except for the middle one. Do this very carefully with sharp scissors.

Now make the fringe. First mark a line at the chosen distance from the edge, parallel to the short cut edges. Sew a machine stitch along this line.

Step 7

Cut the middle layer of fabric up to this line.

Step 8

All that remains is to machine-wash the scarf and let it dry.

You will have a soft, fluffy, and very unusual scarf.
